Brakes

Asked by Jan 15, 2016 at 03:40 PM about the 2010 Kia Rio LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My brakes slipped as I was exiting the fwy.  I
was however able to stop after releasing the
brake and reapplying it.  Brakes work fine as
long as I am on the streets going 40mph or
less.  I had my brake pads changed even
though the old ones were clearly good.  Still
having the same problem.  I have no leaks.
Do I need to replace the master cylinder?

Can you give a little bit more detail on what you mean saying brakes are slipping.

When im on the fwy and have to brake they do not act like they are contacting. It will slow me down but cannot apply hard must press slow and gentle. Hope that helps

The kia dealer says it sounds like a hydroulic issue
