What causes the transmission to act like its trying to find gears

Asked by May 10, 2013 at 12:38 AM about the 2010 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner Double Cab V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a used Tacoma from Rick Hendricks of Charleston and I have only had the truck for about a month.  I drive it to work about 10 miles a day.  My wife drove it to Columbia, SC from Goose Creek and she says she noticed that when she accelerated that the transmission acted like it was slipping then fell into gear when she was passing.  I checked the tranny fluid when she got home and it was full.  What else should I look into?

Check the voltage on the battery with the engine running. It should be around 14-14.5 volts.

Certified pre-owned with a warranty? (2010) Make them fix it. Otherwise start with all the computer grounds.
