what is correct engine tempature?

i just changed my thermostat and i noticed the heat guage stays in between middle and cold. when i turn heater on it drops colder and when i turn a/c on it stays in the middle. is this a problem? no leaks or overheating, nngine light has come on

The tempreture sounds about right,as long as it does not go above mid it is ok,the engine light may be another issue,go have it scaned at autoparts store to know that issue.

The engine should run a 180* temp thermostat.

thanks for the answer. it was supposed to say "no engine light has come on" i only asked because before i changed it, it was always running in the middle and now its between middle and cold.

how do you know what the degree marks are on the heat guage?

mine goes cold, line, middle, line, hot

You don,t know,a factory guage usually should read around center but not above,if you wanted you could install a after market guage for more accurate reading on the temp,but guage and temp sound ok.
