Could be oil pressure, "ticking" is usually top end, and higher rpm's run the oil pump faster and get oil up to top end, oil pump may be clogged or beginning to fail ...and don't trust the guy who changed the oil that he filled it up properly, check it yourself

I just dealt w this issue, the oil pump is headed south it will start knocking on the bottom end in a month or so and will be rediculiously over priced trade it in while you can. My guess is  the check engine ligt is on and the code says cam position sensor which has a oilpressure controlled valve timing. Mine was and 08 and 6000.00 was over the top for my taste. Hope im wrong. But i doubt it. Mine only had 78,000 on the clock.:O
