Dodge 2010 Car is dead

Car is dead. Will start with a charge from battery charger than die right away.  
When you hook up the battery charger is goes all the way over to like it's fully
charged then the battery charger dies as well. This is are only car does
anyone have any suggestions on what it might be. Husband doesn't think it's
the battery or the starter, he thinks it's electrical.  Help!

I think it's the battery, a shorted cell. Have your husband probe the battery with a voltmeter. is it 12V or higher?
