What rear end did you get with it, that would make the difference in your towing capacity? Was it a sway bar or weight distribution hitch?

what size engine do you have and did you get the towing package with it?

The main difference is going to be the axle ratio. Find out what the ratio is via any Chevrolet dealership and your vin. The 3.08 ratio pulls a lot less then the 3.42 for instance. Stephan at Lipscomb Chevrolet Burkburnett Texas.
