Vehicle needs a jump to start and go.

Asked by Feb 19, 2019 at 11:50 AM about the 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently i have to jump my vehicle to make it run then about a mile or two
down the road the vehicle shuts off. I then have to jump the vehicle again to
make it go. There are no warning lights indicated on the dash board just cuts
off or dies. I then have too repeat the process to make it go again. This just
started.
Trouble shooting...

It sounds like a failing alternator not keeping the battery charged up, but there should be a battery warning light. I would have the alternator tested, and the warning light checked as well. It should illuminate at startup to let you know it is working. If you don't see that light at startup then it may be defective.
