My 2010 Chrysler Town & Country needs new brake pads every 6-8 months. I have never had this problem with previous cars, so it's not my driving. Is this typical of this model?
I bought my used van from a dealer with 29,000 miles in November 2011. By July 2012 I needed to replace brake pads. Then again in February 2013. And the last time was November 2013. This is unbelievable! Is this typical of the model? Or do I have a malfunctioning vehicle? I get my work done at Midas because of their life time warranty. Otherwise I would be paying full price at the dealership each time.
I'm guessing it's the front pads you're having trouble with. If so it's because the REAR brakes aren't working. If you have rear drums they're out of adjustment. If you have rear discs it's probably the proportioning valve is bad. You probably are getting lots of black brake dust on the front wheels as well (or rear wheels if that's the pads that keep wearing out). HTH. -Jim
