I have a 2010 nissan altima that wouldn't start. Hit the brake pedal sharply to unstick the brake switch. Replaced switch. Car now starts. Now the brakes are applied ALL the time . Bleeding the brake

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bleeding the brakes helps for 100' or
so . Then grinds to a halt. It's like I
have the pedal smashed to the floor.
Any ideas??

That sounds like the abs is turned on all the time, if you can find it try removing the abs motor fuse or relay and see if that releases the brakes. If it does then you will have to have the system checked out by a good shop.

you have a rubber stopper on your brake switch it gets worn out ,that stopper is the one that activates your switch on and off you need to go to the nissan dealer and get it.it cost arund 3 dollars.
