Driver side window rolls down by itself and right rear passenger door won't unlock

Asked by May 06, 2016 at 02:39 PM about the 2010 Volkswagen Jetta S

Question type: General

On top of my display issue with the gear not displaying, I have had issues
with my driver side door's window rolling down by itself, my right rear door
will not unlock on occasion when I unlock from the key fob and inside the
car as well. I have also had issues with my dome lights not coming on, but
if I hit the lights, they connect and turn on.

It seems as though I am having a lot of wiring issues, does anyone have
any suggestions?

Steph...look, no offense, but check your Owner's Manual to help rule this potential solution. Take a peek at the child safety locks inside the rear doors. If they are on...you can't open doors from inside handles. Make sure they are off, they can interfere.

As far as the window rolling down by itself, which is what pressing the button down can do, you may have a short. The power window switch can be exposed to moisture, which could degrade the wire or switch. You decide how important it is to replace the power window and/or locks module. Also, check the dome light option switches on the headliner to make sure it is in the right position (Off-Door-On) for your needs or stuck in between.
