Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Reasking and old question.

My 2010 Dodge Avenger had several error codes (Codes: U0101, P0481,
P0480, U1110, U1120, U1403, U110E) it drives relatively fine. It randomly
flashes warning lights (the oil light and other lights) and dings and the
speedometer and tachometer rapidly jumps and drops...this all happens
instantaneously. But has no affect on the car speed or the actual rpms. It
runs fine. Only affect it has had was shutting the cruise off while driving. It’s
alternator is fine and battery has been replaced but did not help.....

The tachometer does not work at all currently.

This issue has persisted for about 8 months and the has sat for 6 months.
The fuses are all fine.  I am completely stumped.... any help would be greatly
appreciated!

I am having the exact same problem. Took it to the mechanic and a bad battery, alternator and a BCM later, all the warning lights are still flashing. As soon as I get it fixed I'll let you know how

Turns out it was some fuses and wires behind my dashboard that were crossing. Not a car or electrical person so i cant tell u exactly what. But that was basically it.

Yes there are 3 ground wires inside the engine compartment in front of the driver... above the front drivers side tire. Really easy to access them. The 2 little ones are what you need. Unscrew them and clean the connectors with 200 grit sand paper as well as the screw and metal surface. This will resolve the issue. Even if they are tight and look clean. Do it anyways. I've done it 3 times since posting this question it is the solution.

Clean ground wire connectors. The are inside the engine compartment above front drivers wheel. Just unscrew them and clean with sand paper. And re-tighten them. It will solve the problem. Guaranteed.
