Why does my 2010 elantra sputter

The check engine lights stays on car looses power at highway speed or when first starting out

OK, since the light is on that means you have an issue that something is wrong, and I guess you found that out from the car losing power. You want to have your car scanned for the codes to see exactly what sensor is being triggered, so you can diagnose the problem your car is running horrible. You can take your car to a local auto parts store where they will do it for you for free, or take it to a mechanic to scan and correct your problem. Good Luck!
