my car is locked and i cannot unlock it.  battery appears to be dead.  How can i get under
the hood?

Open the door using your key instead of the fob and pull the back seat down, (you pull the safety latch release) to get access to the trunk where the battery resides.

We opened the door with the key on the drivers side and then opened the hood and charged the battery from the engine compartment.
