i have a 2010 honda accord
it has done 108,000 miles. i went to the Honda World for a oil change and
they said i also need to replace the cooling system hoses and they are going
to charge me $1080, is that a fair amount? do you think that i can get it done
for a cheaper price? please send me a reply as soon as possible. thanks
Well, that depends on how much work they're doing. The entire cooling system to me sounds like the radiator, thermostat, hoses, coolant, flushing and all the belts except the timing belt. But, at your mileage, if your Honda has a timing belt, now would be a great time to do this? So, what's the entire scope of work?
If they're doing everything I've mentioned, do it, it's a bargain.
$1K for some coolant and hoses? No way! Find an independent garage to do it, it isn't anything special that only a dealer can do.
