is is FWD,but is also all wheel drive,if it is being towed on a tow dolly,I know it is a PITA but you need to drop the driveshaft while towing,so the rear wheels will free turn,or it will contuie to ruin the tranny, that is why it is loosing fluid, pressure build up.

it doesn't have a pump to circulate fluid while you are towing it, so you need to get one installed if you want to continue to flat tow it- Remco is a good brand.

You can never flat tow (or other wise known as tag-along towing) a vehicle with an automatic transmission and not do severe damage, if you tow it with the engine running in neutral you will avoid damage but I don't recommend doing that for long distance towing. Your best to use a tow dolly with a FWD vehicle or if it is RWD you can disconnect the drive shaft. You can only tow a manual transmission vehicle with out damaging the trans. AWD vehicles must flat bedded (unless it is a standard).
