Can a relatively small rubber seal damage my car if it were to get sucked in through air intake?

Asked by Feb 11, 2014 at 11:09 PM about the 2010 Ford Focus SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Ford Focus 2010 with a cold air intake, one of the rubber seals that secures one
of the vacuum hoses to the intake was sucked in. I have been driving for about 2 days
unaware that this had happened until my buddy who installed the intake decided to to tell
me. I haven't noticed any problems yet, although I do not want to wait around until
something goes out. Any ideas anyone?

Being rubber it should mash and go on through. You might want to take it apart and see if it is in the tube though.
