My panel indicates that my key battery is low.

Asked by Oct 07, 2013 at 11:28 AM about the 2010 Toyota Prius Three

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I took the remote apart to replace the battery, I discovered there was no battery. Just a tiny green motherboard. The manual had no instructions for this. What do I do now?

All you need to do after you have it apart is to take the tiny green board out and you will find the battery under it. I had the same problem when I opened it up. By chance I dropped it and the green board came out entirely and I was quickly able to make the replacement.

thanx for the info - i would not have tried removing the board and the manual doesn't mention doing that - maybe it is supposed to stay in the plastic casing on the opposite side. new battery tomorrow. :-)
