2010 Chevrolet Cobolt Airbag light

Asked by Mar 12, 2015 at 12:44 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just received a diagnostic report that our 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt needs to have the driver's side seatbelt component replaced to the tune of 1100.00 in order to repair the passenger airbag  light from coming on.  I never received an answer to my questions if this is to repair the airbag light from coming on and fix the airbag, or if this just fixes the light from coming on but the airbag is still operable. Please help answer these questions. I can live with the light just being on if the airbag is still operable.

I'm presuming you have it at a dealership for this sort of work. Call the service manager and ask the question. It's not classified information. They will tell you what's being fixed and you can then decide whether to spend the money or not. If it does need replacing you might want to investigate the practicality of putting in a used part instead of a new one.
