Awd in reverse
2010 ford edge awd. Front tires were in slushy
snow, while rear tires were on absolure bare
pavememt. It was a slight downgrade ( about an
inch per foot and a half) facing downhill. Front tires
just spun. No power shifted to rear wheels. I tried
mor and less gas and braking just to cover all
bases. Had to get use my 1981 diesel rabbit to pull
it out!!! Dealership showed awd working correctly.
Does awd not work in reverse on the edge? Or do i
have an issue? Btw i think i remember the
traction/slippery icon being on.
it should work but the Transfer Case Might Be Burned up the clutches
I am not sure about the Edge but if it uses the same AWD system as the Escape there is a weld that breaks which prevents the AWD from working.
Next time try to turn the traction system OFF because the traction control actually means less traction when the going gets tough.
