Question type: General

My car wouldn't start this morning. The check engine and
check battery light came on when I pushed the button in
to turn it on and the engine made a bunch of clicking
sounds. I pushed the button in to turn all the electricals
off. I waited 5-10 seconds pushed and held the button in
and the car sputtered and the engine turned over. Is it the
battery? Now this sounds maybe like a carborator
problem?

Sounds like a battery issue but I don't recall that year having a push button start. Also if it is the same care as the picture, it doesn't have a corroborator. all modern cars come with fuel injection.

I have the XLE edition it's like a Luxery edition of the Camry. The mechanic said it didn't seem like a battery problem there are no lights on in the dash saying check engine or battery after the car is started. I got it jump started and while the batteries were linked there was a lot of pressure on the brake pedal and I could barely push it in to even get it started.

Battery is too weak to start vehicle. The clicking sound is starter trying to spin.

But wouldn't the light be on in the dash if the battery was having problems? It wouldn't start this morning the first time then the second time it did and now just after an hour it was dead dead and wouldn't start? It more than likely is the battery I just don't want to be charged up the wazzoo for something that's not broken. I told the mechanic I think my battery's toast and he didn't think it was that. -.-' my last vehicle was a 94 so this is a huge vehicle jump for me I don't have a clue really about this one. -.-' I appreciate the help though!

Have your mechanic load test the battery and check battery connections. If there is a problem with the push button start it will have a stored code.
