Is it normal when you take your foot off the gas pedal for Camry's to quickly decelerate vs 'coast' and gradually slow down?

Asked by May 04, 2014 at 08:08 AM about the 2010 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: General

(took a Camry for a test driver and loved it, but was concerned about the almost "too quick' deceleration sensation...  is this a mechanical issue? will it reduce gas mileage? etc...

Auto or stand trans? If auto it does not sound normal to me. Could have a brake or wheel bearing issue causing this. Could also be a trans issue.

Hmm? While most Camry drivers I've seen drive their cars VERY gingerly (painfully slow, to be honest)...there are some Camry owners who drive like a bat out of hell. You could have one of THESE as a used car on your hands...and the tranny may be the issue here. I'd pass on this particular Camry and seek out another one!
