engine light and traction light on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning while I was turning to the uphill street, my car was not able to
drive up the hill. Then both engine light and traction light went on. The road was
filled with snow, too. I was wondering what could have happened to the engine
since I don't have the scanner to know what is wrong? And is the repair also
going to be expensive?

The two faults may be unrelated. Driving uphill in a snow covered road may have caused the traction fault to take the system off line if it could not meet the demand for traction control. The check engine light maybe related but you will need to have the system scanned to determine why is causing it ti trigger. If you don't have a scan tool, take it to a parts store and have them do it for free.
