Question type: Maintenance & Repair

6/17/17 I changed my serpentine belt & car ran fine until 7/24/17. It started running rough & the engine & VSC light came on. Then it didn't want to start so I changed the spark plugs, & coils, It still didn't want to start so I changed the starter. It still doesn't want to start. It tries to but just sputters. I have tried to jump it, still won't start. I'm at a lost,,,, what next?

Any check engine light on? This is where you start. I have a 2011 Camry that I had to change the O2 sensor and air fuel ratio sensor at 77K. Saying this, I have seen an O2 sensor keep a car from starting. It obviously will run rough on the last few runs. Check fuel pressure. Air, fuel and spark.

need more info, it will not start? or will not turn over? do you have spark to the plugs, pull number 1 plug bring it to TDC, and see were the rotor is pointing? it should point to number 1

YES the engine light is on. I don't understand about pulling the #1 plug. I have replaced all plugs and coils. I did them one at a time so I didn't get the wire connectors mixed up. What do you mean by bring it to TDC?

sorry I might have been talking over your head, did not mean to :) TDC means Top dead Center when the Piston comes up all the way before it starts down again that is what is called TDC, overtime a Spark plug fires it will come up to TDC 2 times, one time for intake to breath in and one time to breath out :) if you find the number 1 plug you can pull it out take off coil wire (to make sure it will not start) take a plastic drinking straw, stick in the hole were the spark plug was, have someone bump the starter over gently fell the straw come up, you want it all the way up before it starts down, it might take a few trys to get it, once you got it there you can take off the cap, under the cap you will find a thing that turns around inside the cap, it should be pointing to the plug wire that goes to number 1, if it does you in time, if it points to anywhere else besides 1 your out of time, this can happen if the timing belt was not installed right, feel free to ask if I can be of help Bruce
