My 2010 Corolla S is making low sounds when I break until I come to a full stop and it happens from time to time.

Asked by Jan 11, 2012 at 04:53 PM about the 2010 Toyota Corolla S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have put 43,000+, not sure if the pads are worn or if its the rotars, drums.
I have smelled my breaks from going down steep mountain hill high ways at certain speeds. but
my brakes are still working.

Any idea on whats wrong with it?

your brake pads are worn, the noise you are hearing is the squeailler on pad rubbing the rotor.

have you had this problem or heard of this before?

Is this really bad? will there need to be work done on the rotar too?

Ok thank you So Much, I hope that after changing it, the Noise will be gone.

change your pads. if also the rotors have problems then the brakes will not work and will slide... but it still does so the screeking low sound is the worn out pads rubbing the rotors...check the lines for leaks too, just to be sure...
