AWD is all wheel drive, the light is on because the AWD control unit sensed a problem with the system. But the no start is something else. My RX 300 AWD light came on when one of the wheel speed sensors wiring plugs seal failed and the wiring started to rust, typical west of the cascade mountains problem, but it never prevented the engine from starting or even driving, sometimes it would buck just a little on a tight turn but after I fixed the wiring it went right back to normal operations. You have serviced the AWD system, right? I would refer you to a good shop to get this fixed, one you trust,Lexus problems are not cheap even though they are just a Toyota, maintance seems to be of paramount importance on these cars. Good Luck.

It happened to me about a month ago. It seems to be the problem of battery. We haven't started the car for a long time and when we tried to start the car, it said "Check AWD system" Then we started car with another battery - we got help from another car - and it started and fixed. I think it is caused because of battery. It might be died out.
