the thermostat regulated temp is 190 degrees however like most gm cars if sitting still the fans wont come on until 220 or so the only way to override that is to put the a/c on which will turn on the cooling fans at low speed as long as the a/c works, so the actuate answer is, it is normal but only if it happens while in traffic or standing still, if while driving make sure the radiator is free from blockage ,a.k.a plastic bag caught in grill, and hosing off the radiator with a garden hose periodically is a good practice

Vehicles today run 195° and depending on the weather, how hot it is out during the summer months, they will run 210°. When an engine is getting over 210° F. there is a problem. Either a hot humid day, stuck in traffic causing an engine to run hotter. Getting over 210° is pushing it. May need a coolant flush, the thermostat changed out, and possibly the problem could be a bad water pump along with the fans not turning on. An engine running hot causes the head gaskets to fail, and extensive repair cost.

It is cold out but I noticed that my oil temp won't go above 84°C (183.2° F) It actually bounces between 84°C and 83°C (183.2° F and 181.40° F) Is this normal? It is not falling in between the yellow lines as it is supposed to.

Hi guys. I have a 2015 camaro car. There are currently an average of zero degrees outdoors (32F). (its winter). If the car is just in place, with the engine running, the temperature of the coolant goes up to 105 degrees Celsius (221F). When it goes to the car and cools the wind, it falls back to 86 degrees Celsius (187F). What I have read about the subject so far on the Internet, these values are normal.

I have a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, it keep saying high coolant temperature, no coolant or high engine gauge. I have checked it out. I also put coolant in it and it is still doing the same thing. I also checked the fans the fans doesn't comes on period. Even when the temperature rise. I also had someone to look at it and they said it's either my fans or the temperature pressure gauge.. anyone knows what wrong with it

I've got a v6 97 camaro and I changed the thermostat after blowing a radiator upper hose, now it still gets up to about 224 after sitting for about 10 or 20 mins it's an old car sat for a year after the previous owner neglected it, now she's my problem, however it makes me uneasy that it keeps getting higher at a very slow rate but hasn't gone past 230°

I own a manual 2010 Camaro LS, it overheated one day on the highway when construction was going on and was very stop and and also very slow moving. The car overheated to the point that it actually shut down part of the engine as a safety feature. Thought it might've been a sticky thermostat, but once getting under the hood we noticed the thermostat was way in the back and underneath the fuel lines, so we went through the process of elimination to hopefully avoid changing the thermostat if that indeed wasn't the cause of the Camaro overheating.. when I looked online for other options it could have been, there was a lot of reviews and talks of people who had similar situations with their 2010 or newer overheating and most found it to be the radiator cap. With radiator caps being fairly inexpensive and easy to swap out, this is what we tried first. Unfortunately it still was overheating, so then we went to replace a relay and censor. The relay ended up being fine, but the sensor was what was needed to be replaced. Turns out the fan wasn't kicking on, and just needed to replace the sensor and haven't had it go much past 200 F°, usually stays between 190-200 F°, but will sometimes go around 205 F° when sitting or in slow traffic

My 2010 Camarillo just overheated. It had been idling for about 10 minutes and then went about 12 miles on highway and a few stoplights and suddenly it shot up to max temp and alarmed and I had to shut it down. I noticed a little water under car before I left but thought it was ac condensation.
