honda element engine installation flat rate
Well, the question is kinda bogus. "A new engine AND block..." FYI, a new engine contains a BLOCK. If you're asking how long it takes to remove a bad engine and replace with another, I'd suggest it could take a couple of experienced guys about 4-5 hrs to complete the swap. Assuming that you're not changing anything else. Simple engine swap with exactly the same hookups, wiring, exhaust, etc. This would be a very simple swap and the Element has loads of room under the hood to work.
Definitely longer than 4-5 hours. Engine comes out the bottom of the car, so you will need a lift. Most likely the complete engine cradle with engine and transmission have to come down then separated and once the new engine is mated to the transmission, both will be attached to the engine cradle and everything reinstalled from the bottom again.
