2009 Ford F150 intermittently wont start
Seems to be a fuel issue. When I initiate the fuel pump i hear a gravelly noise from the intake manifold under the hood.
Check the evap solenoid mounted on top of the manifold on the drivers side. I destroyed mine by force feeding fuel into the tank when filling after the nozzle clicked off the first time. A definite no-no on Ford trucks. It usually throws a check engine light on the dash, but not always. My problem was also intermittent, normally resulting in hard starting after filling. It progressed to the point where the engine would just kill while driving. Also have your mechanic check for updates to your PCM. My 2010 was four years old, purchased new, when I had to replace parts on the EVAP system. There were also two updates to the PCM that were required.
