2009 Ford F150 Wont turn over
My truck is having an issue for 5 months were sometimes when you turn the
key it cranks but doesnt turn over. After towing it to mechanic it starts. This
has happened 4 times now. We replaced the fuel pump, replaced the key
and cylanoide (security issue we thought) and now a ford specialist
replaced the fuel sensor, It worked then stopped right after he replaced it.
Now it will not start at all. I have a video of what happens. Any ideas?
definitely enectronic/electric in nature. You'll have to begin at the plugs for fire then check backward to the PCM to determine the problem.
Thanks. We were able to start the truck by spraying ether. Codes only show no gas to cylinders. we used a high end 30K code reader. Some were thinking security system. The crazy thing is it happened all 4 times on a Friday. Ive heard about resetting the PCM. I have a video of what happens but cant upload it. I have a Ford dealership looking at it monday. Thanks again
My F 150 is a 4.6 3V. It started killing while driving and had hard start condition when filling the tank. It was my fault. The owners manual clearly states when the fuel nozzle clicks off, DO NOT force feed more fuel into the tank. Of course, not reading the manual, I did not to this. Ends up I forced raw fuel into the cat converter (did not damage it thankfully) which was drawn into the EVAP purge valve which sucks vapors from the tank to be burned in the engine. I had to replace the purge valve mounted on the top of the engine near the intake manifold. Just something to keep in mind. NOTE: If the purge valve fails and begins running a vacuum check on the gas tank, it can stick in operation. This can cause the gasoline tank to actually collapse inward, like sucking on the opening of an empty beer can.
If it starts with ethel, obviously is fuel related. check fuel pressure at rail and if less than 30psi, check fuel supply:fuel relay, fuel filter and pump
Check the fuel pump relay fuse.
Yes. The fuse was melted. Ford found it at 22 bucks for the part and 300 for labor. It melted and wiring need to be replaced. Thank you!
Well I only paid $2.40 for the fuse. But the Ford dealer thought it was the pcm. Those sell for $600.00. Thanks to this forum was i able to fix it.
The fuse didn't blow just melted. So the truck would start in the morning but when it was turned off it would not start until the fuse cooled down.
I'm having this same problem now.
