Wheel sizes I can buy without a lift kit or modification
I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara that came from the dealer with 17x7.5
wheels on it. I'd like to buy new wheels, but every website I use returns
wheels sized 17x9. Can I put these on my Jeep without modifying the Jeep?
could I buy 18" wheels?
17's are better for off road in my opinion. Low profile tires break when you hit rocks and ruts.
You can definitely put 18" wheels on your Wrangler. You could even put 19" or 20" wheels on it. What you need to watch out for is going to be the size of the tire itself. Bigger off road tires on larger wheel sizes will cause the tires to rub on tighter turns. Full_of_Regrets is correct in that smaller wheels would work better for off road driving with a stock Jeep as it allows you to get bigger beefier off road tires. I would suggest visiting a tire shop to view different tire and wheel combinations that would fit and finding the combination that is going to best suit the way you drive your Wrangler. OllllO
