What can be the problem when I start my car it runs for 5 to 10 seconds then cuts out please help

First, does the red led light on the dash keep flashing after you put key in...you don't even have to turn it, just put it in ignition... or does it go off? And do you habitually run it very low on gas?

Hi yes light does go of and no most of time will be full tank
