Why is my oil pressure light coming on in my 2009 silverado 5.3 lt? always change my oil..even back it up with a qt of Lucas oil treatment! engine puurs like a kitten...no smoke blowing...no knocking

Always maintain my oil with 1 qt of Lucas to back it up!! engine purrs like a kitten..no
smoke...no knocking what so ever!! read maybe a dirty screen near the sending unit??

It may be a bad sensor. They have been know to fail. If you can, have someone hook up a test gauge and see what the readings are. If they mirror what the dash gauge reads, change out the sensor. First I'd clean the connections and make sure it is on tight.

It is because there is a filter under your oil pressure sensor the screen filter is hard to get to but its 7 bucks fixed my 07 tahoe
