2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Jeep is telling me to check the gas cap.  It also runs rough from time to
time.  When it starts to run rough it is after warming up.  It seems as though
rains affect it and also after fill ups in hot weather.  It is giving a #1 Misfire
code and we have changed out coil pack and spark plug.  I have checked
and cleaned the gas cap and all appears to be fine there.  It also blows
excessive blue smoke out the exhaust occasionally and I am loosing oil
somewhere.  There are no signs of oil leak and the exhaust almost smells
more like a hot brakes smell than a burnt oil smell.  Any help would be
appreciated.

Replace the gas cap if it isn't making a good seal. This is a closed system and if air enters it will run rough. It should have tripped a code related to gross vacuum leak. This could also be related to a vacuum leak else where in the system but I would replace the gas cap first as it is the easiest and cheapest thing to do first.
