Sensors on 09 dodge durango

Could a sensor malfunction stop the 09 durango
from moving in drive and reverse? Had no prior
issues.. codes said it was stuck between gears n a
sensor could be broke or burnt wires

Stuck between gears is usually the infamous solenoid problem that everyone seem to be having, but I have seen a few TCM's that foul up.
