I have a 2009 Outback with 112,000 miles.

yesterday my second axel in 5 months broke.  Luckily, I was only going 40 miles an
hour, as it just stopped moving.  Is this normal?  Is there something that should be
repaired to prevent this happening in the future? It worries me as I drive 90 freeway miles
daily.  thanks for your input.

Which axel broke and what part of the axel broke, was it the center of the axel or one of the ends?

Do you notice any other conditions, such as noise or vibration? And what Nick asked. And please describe the break, what does it look like?
