ARE HYBRID CARS just a passing FAD?
It's been suggested to me that "hybrid cars" are just a passing "FAD" and will be
obsolete and thrown away like old Kleenex? Do you agree?? Ridiculous!
I don't know about the United Stated but I did see that the New Zealand will be giving up on fossil fueled automobiles soon, so all cars will be electric, so no hybrids there. I do believe that Hybrids are a limited vehicle, I think they will eventually die out as other forms of power become more prevalent, like fuel cells and electric.
The only reason hybrid cars exist is to make up for the limited range and power of all-electric vehicles. As the technology behind electric vehicles improves, the need to use gas engines in them will diminish.
Electric and hybrid cars are passing fads. The gas engine is the best thing we have for now, so don't look for it to die in your lifetime. However, you WILL live to see the death of the electric car. It may be revived again in the future, like this time and all the many other times we've tried electric cars in the past, but having nothing but electric cars on the road is in the distant future.
