Installing a tow hitch

Asked by Mar 18, 2011 at 12:01 AM about the 2009 Toyota Prius Liftback

Question type: Car Customization

I wish to install a tow hitch on my 2009 Prius. The install instructions call for a slight modification to the plastic underbody panel on the driver side. How do I remove the plastic rivets without breaking them?

This hitch is for a bicycle rack, not for towing.

clean the windshield,or ask jeff.

pull them out of the grommet with a flat screwdriver (about 1/4 inch) and the whole plastic rivet assembly should come out.
