Ran out of gas, put gas in, still won't start.

Brake feels stiff to push in. Have a hard
time to put into gear.

Most likely the fuel pump burned out when you ran out of gas. The gasoline running through the fuel pump cools and lubricates the pump motor. When they're run dry they often burn out. HTH. -Jim
