2005 Ford Escape Fuel system not working correctly
So recently I got my fuel pump and fuel rail sensor changed after my car
We had to ground the fuel pump to the car’s body for it to function. But when
grounded it runs at a constant 100%. Yesterday I changed the Fuel pump
driver module and it still does the same. When we remove the makeshift
grounding wire, the fuel pump won’t work.
My next guess is the fuel system wiring. All fuses and everything else works
correctly. But the Fuel pump shouldn’t be working extra hard under normal
use. Please does anyone have an idea to what makes this happen?
I'm not an electrical expert, but the wiring does sound compromised. Best to have a mechanic probe the wiring to see where the issue is, and fixing it correctly. You don't want a work around when it comes to fuel.
