My 2009 Chevy Silverado LTZ door locks start clicking up and down, will not connect to on star, an ultimate power shortage, and the truck shutters then looses power. Takes about 45-50 minutes to restart.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck is running, and the door locks start clicking up and down, the truck shutters, will
not connect to on star, then the truck dies.  It takes about 45-50 minutes for it to restart.
The dealer can't find the problem.  Onstar ran a diagnostic, but can't find anything either.
When it is having this issue, it will not connect to on star.  However, when the problem is
cleared up it will connect and the truck runs fine.

Start looking for bad ground and power pathways, look at the main circuits first, then on to secondaries. A shop manual with wiring diagrams will really help with this problem. FYI check any aftermarket installed accessories, if they were installed incorrectly they can cause feedback in the electrical system of the newer vehicles.
