Lag acceleration rpm increase but no speed

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I Recently just got a 2009 VW JETTA SE 2.5 engine automatic- and I’ve had
it about a month now - no check engine light has come on but I noticed the
driving gets randomly rough and inconsistent. My morning commute when
entering a freeway on-ramp from a red stop light it takes forever it seems to
regain the speed for entering the on ramp and then merging onto freeway -
also it sounds louder at time of acceleration (and I don’t mean like me revving
up the engine) it will be hesitate if I try to pass a vehicle BUT not every or all
the time .. No check engine lights or any dash lights have come on since I’ve
owned it but I was curious if anyone else has noticed n had a solution to this?
ALSO when starting my car after not driving it for a few hours like say in the
morning after it’s been sitting all night when I start my vehicle it is extremely
extremely loud and shakes/rumbles almost — I wait a few before putting it in
reverse and when I do it JUMPS/POPS in reverse and I don’t even push the
gas pedal my foots no where near it I just lightly and slowly take my foot off the
break … any ideas? I’m always looking for a dash light to tell me if there’s a
problem but from my experience they very rarely come on when something is
wrong lol

I just had this about 2 months ago VERY similar. Your throttle position sensor is going out. It's because the gears inside the throttle body were built cheap with plastic because VW doesn't tell you how cheap they want to build the TB ( unless they are buying someone else design and YET not telling you about it). I took my TB off with an allen wrench. I cannot imagine it's a different style on your car. The throttle body that sits in front of the intake manifold is quite simple to take off.. al wrench, slip the boot off AND be very easy with the SAI airline pulling it off. Once the screws are out, boot is off then unplug the wire clamp from the underside. Nothing to it. Get back to me if this work for you. I've ran 3000 miles on my TB that I did the work myself. AND DONT forget, you will need a gasket when you replace the TB back onto the manifold. that's 2 metal pieces coming together. Get an O ring gasket for 3 bucks at the part store. good luck

So the check engine light has now come on and when I went to get the code read the auto place said I had to take it to VW because the reg obd reader wouldn’t pull up any codes for it- something bout a VAG-reader that apparently VW and Audi and a few other car manufacturers use a different kind of software? Idk this is so frustrating ! I’m still losing power randomly just no acceleration and I don’t have the $ to just take it to VW dealership they are higher then giraffe pussy if they think I am paying over 100$ JUST to plug in a damn code reader lol thanks for y’all’s help and answers though above I do appreciate it ^^!!

my car is reving and jumping forward then reving at gifh RPMs even when i let my foot off the gas and brake completely then downshifts hard making it unsafe and unavle to gain power to accelerate at a stable speed it break appropriately N downshifts hard when I let my foot off the gas line Wtf I JUST PAID 1k last WEEK at a VW certified repair shop and now it’s worse
