is it worth it to flush engine before a oil change ,i have 88000 on 2005 ford escape
If the vehicle has been maintained properly then no it is not needed. But be aware that if it hasn't been maintained and you do have it flushed it can loosen up buildup and cause the oil pickup screen too plug up and thus resulting in a loss of oil pressure and the distruction of the engine. If you do have a poorly maintained engine the best thing to,use is a high detergent engine oil and change it more frequently, this will slowly help clean out the engine and hopefully prevent large pieces from blocking the oil pickup. HTH
Flushing is not really recommended unless you suspect it to be really dirty but you run the risk as mentioned above
