Ford Escape Limited 2005 4WD groans when turning the steering wheel.
Every time I turn my wheel I can hear my car make what sounds like a loud
groaning noise. It sounds like its coming from the front of my car. Turning
my wheel is not more difficult than before when my car didn't make this
noise and I changed my power steering fluids. I brought it to a mechanic
when I got my brakes replaced about a week ago and even mentioned I
thought it was the power steering pump from what I read online and he
said he could not find the source of the noise. Help please? I really dont
know If I should be worried about this or not.
Check for leaking power steering fluid or wet lines. Does it groan when the car is in park and you turn the wheel? Your car is getting older, if the power steering pump is getting tired, try something like Bar's power steering additive.
