ENGINE HOT a/c on .!!!

My 2009 impala ls has the code *engine
hot a/c on " on dash .... changed out the
coolant temperature sensor and the light
still illuminates .... what should be my next
step .??? Please help .!!!!!

Is the fan working? If not, this might be your problem. Check the coolant lever and check the hoses from the radiator if hot (just touch and let go). This would show if the thermostat is ok. Also you could step out of the car and leave the interior fan on the highest mark to see if temperature is coming down.

This problem is not from the coolant level, temp sending unit or thermostat. When code comes on the temp guage drops to 160. The engine is NOT hot. Disconnecting the battery for about 1 min clears the code. For awhile, then it returns. Still looking for cause.
