why does the change oil light comes on after 2000 miles?

change oil light comes on after 2000 miles. this is the third time it has
happened. oil level is fine and I use fram oil filters. It shows 10% life left on oil.
vehicle has 40K miles and i've had it since new

The type of filter has nothing to do with the light as this is not a measurement of the oil quality. This is the computer calculating the engine use to estimate the oil condition. If you idle a lot of do a lot of stop and go driving the computer could calculate that you need an oil change.

Incidentally the orange Fram filters are junk. Use the silver or gold ones which have a good filtration rating.
