my '09 tahoe keeps blowing the 30A fuse I'm trying to replace. The fuse is for the sun roof which is stuck in the open position. When replacing the fuse it just blows each time.

Asked by Jul 09, 2015 at 03:04 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LT2 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My kids borrowed the car for a parade and when was returned the sunroof wouldn't close,
it wouldn't budge.  So i checked the fuse it looked like it was blown so I replaced it with
another 30A fuse and it blew that fuse.  Ive tried 3 more fuses and its still blows.

Now the battery is dead as well.  Could be an alternator problem?

No, you have a short you have to chase the wire back to the short.

Check the lighter/power port socket. Kids like to put pennies in there. That'll do it if it's on the same circuit. HTH. -Jim
