2009 Chevy Cobalt - happens in rainstorms-Check Engine Light comes on-car starts shaking-Traction Control turns off-Engine Power Reduced warning comes on-won't accelerate!!

Asked by Sep 09, 2015 at 03:02 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LT1 Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

this is the second time this has happened. Brought it in for repair the first time & they said they fixed it & it cost over $800 to repair. Now it just happened again. Same circumstances. Very frustrating!!! And very unsafe. Obviously when they said they fixed it they didn't. Can't afford to keep bringing back for same thing!!

Should not have to keep paying you payed them to fix the problem and they did not so it should be on them until the problem is fixed correctly because $800 is a lot of money to pay and still have the same problem.

how many miles does the car have, those cars have to have the timing chains changed around 60,000, it all depends on the upkeep of the car.

Have you had the check engine light code or codes scanned that should tell you exactly what the problem is but it sounds like the Torque Converter Clutch Solinoid is locking up.
