Starting issues with 2009 Toyota Camry

Asked by Nov 16, 2016 at 02:54 PM about the 2009 Toyota Camry SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have intermittent starting issues. It will start, run
for a couple seconds and die. After that it turns
over fine, almost starts, but dies. After several
times of doing this it will eventually start. It has
done this 3 times in the last year, but 2 of the
times have been more recent. The car is a 2009
Toyota Camry.

i would start the diagnosis with checking Fuel Pressure. Sounds like you may have a bad Fuel Pump or restricted fuel filter. Try smacking the bottom of the fuel tank with your hand while some one else tries a start/restart. If she fires up more consistently....you most likely have a FP issue.

Ok. I was kind of suspecting a fuel pump problem. Thanks for the information.
