Can I replace 215/50/1R16 to 225/60/R16

my tires are due for a replacement and I considering changing from 215/60/R16 to 225/60/R16.
Will it affect performance?

Not performance, but MPG will be lower. Plus your speedometer will register 1-2 mph faster than the speed your actually traveling. I always stick with OEM recommendations.
