Run a carfax or other vehicle history report. This will tell you of any odometer reading discrepancies. Just changing a battery shouldn't change your odometer reading. Is it possible the electronic numbers weren't lighting up correctly before the battery trouble making the numbers appear to be different? Like an optical illusion? HTH. -Jim
